We love it when customers throw us an interesting or unusual request for a custom order. They often challenge us and provide exciting opportunities for growth and development.
So, when we received an inquiry from the International German School (IGS) of Ho Chi Minh City for a unique custom printed tea towel recently, we were quite excited.
The order brief:
– to handprint and create a one-of-a-kind tea towel using artwork created by their Year 1 to 5 students.
Purpose:
– to provide a unique and meaningful end-of-academic year farewell gift for the school’s staff and suppliers.
A bit of background:
IGS teacher, Kathrin, contacted us with her idea – their art teacher Ben would task their primary year students to draw one teacher/staff member each. The individual images would then be collected and arranged, names would be added, and the final artwork created. Very Ngon Homewares would then organise for the silk screen to be made, print the image in a single colour and sew up of the final product.
Outcome – a meaningful memento:
The tea towels were presented to the IGS teachers and staff at an end-of-year celebration in June. Kathrin contacted us after the event, sharing with us that her colleagues loved their gift, and it was a huge success.
Likewise, we were thrilled to be a part of this project, providing a well-made, meaningful, and memorable present. We especially loved the idea of students actively participating in the design of this unique keepsake.
