Printing and fabric colour variations:
We pride ourselves on the quality of our screen-printing for the Indochine B&W Collection. We also do our best to source quality fabrics similar in colour from one batch to the next. However consistency in colours and printing can be an issue for the following reasons:
Fabric sourcing:
Very Ngon Homewares’ purchases fabrics from the local wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City. The stores we purchase from have in turn sourced their fabric from larger companies that, following completion of large orders, have excess rolls of fabric to sell. The nature of fabric sourcing is therefore inconsistent in Vietnam. As a result, once we run out of a fabric, it is near impossible to source the same fabric or the same colour again. We like to think these constant variations keep things fresh and interesting for our customers
Fabric colours:
We have done our best to accurately portray our fabric colours online. Colours on-screen however can vary between computers and devices and individual monitor and device settings, as well as other factors beyond our control, may also result in colour discrepencies. This means that we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the fabric colour you see on your screen or device.
Screen-printing:
Each of our Indochine B&W products is individually screen printed in our workshop. As a result, each of our printed images will be slightly different from one print to the next, with some prints lighter, some similar to and others darker than the product images seen on our website. Take a look at this Instagram post as an example of how our quality prints can vary. This is what makes screen printing unique and interesting – because it is done by hand, no two images will be exactly the same.
How do I care for my products?
With the exception of some of our bags and those with leather straps, our products are machine washable. Any product with leather should be washed by hand or dry cleaned.
As with any fabric-based product, hand washing in cold water will always provide printed textiles with a longer life. Washing repeatedly in hot water breaks down fabric fibres more quickly and the printed images will fade a little faster. The same applies to washing of our colour digitally printed images.
Where are Very Ngon Homewares’ products made?
We have a workshop which is located around 20 minutes from downtown Ho Chi Minh City. With the exception of our multi-colour printing which is outsourced, all processes from washing, cutting and printing of the fabric to the construction and sewing of our products is done onsite by our staff in our workshop.
Who makes your products?
All of our products are made by one or more of our Very Ngon Homewares’ staff. We employ a small team of mostly women to print and create our products at our workshop. Providing long-term employment opportunities with fair pay and benefits is important to us. We do our best to minimise outsourced labour, thereby keeping the majority of our production as local as we possibly can.
