Stepping away from our desks and into a maker’s studio is always a refreshing reminder that creativity can be found in many forms.
Last week, our co-founder Kate organised a team workshop at Very Ngon Homewares in Phú Nhuận, where we explored the craft of traditional screen printing in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
Guided by Hiền, an experienced screen-printing artisan, we learned the hands-on process behind creating prints – from preparing the screen to carefully transferring each design onto fabric. It was a chance to slow down, appreciate the craft, and experience the satisfaction of making something by hand.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was meeting Hiếu and Lise, the founders of Very Ngon Homewares. They shared the story behind their business, which began with a single hand-printed kitchen towel made by Lise in the kitchen of their small Saigon home back in 2009. Listening to how a simple idea grew into a beloved local brand was both inspiring and a meaningful reminder that every creative journey starts with passion, persistence, and a willingness to begin.
To complete the workshop, each of us printed our own tote bag and polo shirt featuring a horse graphic – a symbol of strength, energy, and new beginnings. Every print was slightly different, making each piece a personal keepsake from the day.
More than learning a new technique, the workshop reminded us that craftsmanship, storytelling, and creativity are at the heart of every meaningful design. A heartfelt thank you to Kate, Hiền, Hiếu, Lise, and the team at Very Ngon for a memorable afternoon filled with inspiration, laughter, and shared experiences.

Tuần trước, đồng sáng lập của OUT-2 DESIGN, Kate, đã tổ chức một buổi workshop tại Very Ngon Homewares (Phú Nhuận), nơi cả đội có cơ hội tìm hiểu về nghệ thuật in lụa thủ công trong một không gian gần gũi và đầy cảm hứng.
Dưới sự hướng dẫn của anh Hiền, một nghệ nhân giàu kinh nghiệm trong lĩnh vực in lụa, chúng tôi được trực tiếp trải nghiệm toàn bộ quy trình tạo nên một bản in – từ khâu chuẩn bị khung lưới đến việc tỉ mỉ kéo từng lớp mực lên bề mặt vải. Đó là dịp để mọi người chậm lại, cảm nhận vẻ đẹp của nghề thủ công và niềm vui khi tự tay tạo nên một sản phẩm hoàn chỉnh.
Điểm đặc biệt của buổi chiều là cuộc trò chuyện cùng Hiếu và Lise, hai nhà sáng lập của Very Ngon Homewares. Họ chia sẻ câu chuyện khởi nghiệp bắt đầu từ năm 2009, khi Lise tự tay in những chiếc khăn bếp đầu tiên ngay trong căn bếp nhỏ của gia đình tại Sài Gòn. Từ một ý tưởng giản dị, họ đã từng bước xây dựng nên một thương hiệu được nhiều người yêu mến. Câu chuyện ấy là lời nhắc rằng mọi hành trình sáng tạo đều bắt đầu từ sự đam mê, lòng kiên trì và dũng cảm bước đi từ những điều nhỏ bé nhất.
